FCMA rolls out Cycle Seven of Fujairah Photography Award

Fujairah Culture & Media Authority (FCMA) unveiled Cycle Seven of Fujairah Photography Award “FPA” (2024-2025) under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah.
This announcement was made at a press conference held today at Dar Rashid Publishing, with the presence of H.E. Nasser Al Yamahi, Executive Director of FCMA and FPA General Supervisor, Jasim Al Awadi, Head of the Jury, and Fatima Youssef, FPA General Coordinator. The launch of FPA underscores FCMA’s dedication to supporting art, culture and heritage, as well as to promoting innovation and creativity among talented individuals and professionals through FCMA’s vision of cultivating a photography and visual arts culture to strengthen Fujairah’s standing as a leading hub in the local and international cultural and artistic arenas, said H.E. Nasser Al Yamahi.
Mr. Jasim Al Awadi, Head of the Jury, provided an overview of FPA’s themes, which are organized into three diverse themes paving the way for creative photographers to showcase their creativity. The first and primary theme, titled “Fujairah: A Beacon of Light in the East,” encompasses images of the natural beauty as well as modern urban development of Fujairah—serving as an inspiring city for creative individuals. The second theme focuses on the local landscape, featuring images that capture the charm and diversity of traditional crafts and local markets. The third and final theme focuses on the global landscape, shedding light on the stories and candid moments from the streets that reflect cultural and social diversity. Furthermore, Jasim presented the FPA’s key requirements and standards.
Ms. Fatima Youssef, FPA General Coordinator, highlighted the FPA achievements in the previous cycles through its role in fostering intellectual, aesthetic and cultural growth in Fujairah and across the UAE, thereby serving as a prominent platform for both Arab and international talent in visual creativity. Over the coming months until winners are announced, FPA will host an array of indoor and outdoor seminars and artistic workshops focused on the photography arts, techniques and equipment. Starting today, October 8, FCMA began accepting entries, continuing until September 16, 2025. The winners will be revealed at a ceremony held in October 2025.
The FPA Jury is composed of Mr. Jasim Al Awadi, serving as the Head, along with Mr. Yazzen Omar, Mr. Mohamed Al Marzooqi, Mr. Mubarak Mahboob and Mr. Ahmed Al Ansaari as the Jury members.
