November 28, 2024
Fujairah Culture & Media Authority (FCMA) organized an applied art workshop entitled “Back to the Past” on December 15 and 16 at Dar Rashid Publishing. Presented by artist Jasim Al Awadi, this workshop marked the first event within activities of Fujairah Photography Award “FPA” (2024-2025).
H.E. Nasser Al Yamahi, Executive Director of FCMA, invited all talented individuals from both Fujairah and beyond to take advantage of the free applied art workshops organized by FCMA, designed for both photography talents and enthusiasts. He also encouraged all artistic talents to participate in FPA by submitting their work according to the themes listed on FPA website and taking advantage of FPA various benefits.
Al Yamahi highlighted that the aim of organizing the applied art workshops, held on the sidelines of FPA, is to develop the scientific, artistic, technical and practical skills of photography talents, enthusiasts and individuals aspiring to become professionals in the field. Over 10 art workshops have been planned in this field, incorporating theoretical and practical aspects.
Jasim Al Awadi, the Workshop Presenter and Head of FPA Jury, stated that the first day of the workshop involved theoretical explanation for participants, and showcasing works of artists specializing in the same field, ensuring production of high-quality imagery.
The second day was devoted to exploring sites of traditional crafts in Fujairah. Under the auspices of Fujairah Society for Fishermen, participants visited the fishing museum in Merbah. Photographs were captured at these vibrant locations and later discussed during the concluding session.
At the workshop’s conclusion, H.E. Nasser Al Yamahi, Jasim Al Awadi and Asaad Fadda, FCMA Advisor, presented FCMA-accredited certificates to 15 participants.
